These pictures were taken through the tourist-lense – Maybe not as fancy as some Instagram accounts, but the majority was edited.

In the region Jendouba you’ll find elements that refer to the variety of cultures that left an
imprint on Tunisia.

While it seems impossible to shoot deserted pictures at Italian ruins, the romans left remarkable treasures in Tunisa, seemingly untouched.

But next to Roman ruins the interior region Jendouba  offers stunning landscapes which one can discover all alone as well.

This picture shows what my future house will look like. On occasion, I’ll provide more pictures of the medina (Tunis).

A friend and I went to the Southern towns Tozeur, Nefta and Douz, and next to chatting with attractive camels…

…I passed through the Sahara on a horse. Back in Tunis I continue with equestrian sports, by playing horse ball!

In the oasis town Nefta a former water source (Corbeille) is used as a water management system based on groundwater.

The alleys of Tozeur’s and Nefta’s medinas almost create a little labyrinth, therefore we got lost even more than once.

Bricks decorate the houses of the medina(Tozeur), while decorative Screws in the front doors indicate the wealth of the families.

2011, on a visit, my US-American hostfamily enthusiastically took pictures of the frontdoors of my home village. And now me…

2011 besuchte mich meine US-Amerikanische Gastfamilie und schoss voller Begeisterung Fotos der Haustüren in meinem Dorf. Und was mach ich?

We also went to the market, where you find next to vegetables and fruits also fish, fresh dates and spices.

And what’s for lunch? A typical cous cous dish, with camel meat and cooked in a traditional vase. Very delicious!

(A silly carnival-song about a thirsty sultan and his caravan looking for drinks, and we are not talking water here…)

(And the story finds its happy-end when Nathan the wise (who I just had to googled myself) finds an oasis.)

From rock-, to sand-, to salt desert right next to each other, while the latter could almost be a polar desert.

The atmosphere was really stunning, at least if you know that you can leave again and this is not forever.

This toilet is one of the reasons why you’d want to take a quick picture but not to live here.

Some hardcore fans amongst you might have already recognized this place; because it is a little famous in the galaxy.

On the occasion of the 70th Star-Wars anniversary, a German fan-club was ordered to take promo videos in Mos Espa.
