My first day in school is over and it was quite nice even they do not really know what to do with me and I am not that familiar with the system to already have a plan what to do.
But the teachers are very nice and lovely and they invited me already to several events.
On the 5th of October is teacher day, which will be celebrated heavily here. Teacher do earn very poor salary of around 300€ a month but are highly recognized in the society.
I will help with students aged from 13 to 16 (they start learning german at age 11). The gap is sometimes huge between the best pupil and the worst but we will see how this will work out. I might do a reading lesson extra and a film or music evening. We will see.
The English teacher asked me to teach them English (not their pupils how funny) because they loved my way to speak and lots of them do not like English even they teach it. Strange and I will see whether I can fulfil their requirements.

Another particularity: you do not put anything on the floor! Not even your bag. Better put it on the same chair on which you sit 😀

And of course, schedule can change any minute! In one German lesson the pupils did not have their German book with them, which was a catastrophe for the teacher and she asked me what we can do…. Easy answer: make copies from your book for the pupils 😉 Happy ending finally!

I will have around 15 hours in school but I think some more will be coming as I would really like to to a little project for myself! Lovely timetable because I will be done most of the times around 1pm or at least at 2pm… So enough time to prepare lessons, go out and see UB, do some sport and help other children with their homework.

By the way today at home the neighbours came around and the little girl asked me to help her learning German ☺ How cute and so we made two appointments for next week in the evening to correct her homework together!
