They love to sing and dance!

To turn to todays trip:

Enkhee, her family and Ankhaa invited me to visit the countryside and have a BBQ together.
We went out of the city (eastern direction), sounds easy, but even on a Saturday is a lot of traffic in the city and now I know how roundabouts work like in Mongolia 😀 You get in when you think you wont be hit by a car and when you want to get out you stop in the middle and wait, blinking that you want to get out and wait again until you think you wont get hit – creepy. But yeah I am still alive and after getting nearly hit several times we went out of the city. The street out of the city remembered me a bit of Australia: just a loooooong street and nothing around, ok some mountains but more or less brownish steppe, autumnal-like. It was a bit bumpy, luckily no swerves… otherwise….. 😉

After about one hours we reached Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue (huge as you see on the pics). Ankhaa went in with me as my personal guide (thanks therefore!) and we wanted to climb up as well as watch the film about how the area should look like in several years! But yeah Mongolian adventure…. No electricity, without electricity no film and even no lift 😀 This meant for us taking the stair (good for me ☺), even I have to admit I am a bit short winded here because of the height (1300m over mean sea level). Genghis Khan is very popular and the great idol of the Mongolians! You can find him everywhere in the city, on the countryside.

Then we tried to find a nice place to BBQ and went therefore on so called “Landstraßen/ countryside highway”. This sounds to us Germans as a tarred street, but it resembles more of a sandy tracks. We hit several time the ground; we bravely went down some cliffy sandtracks. We really had to look for a place and swerve potholed “ways” to find a cosy place to stay.
Much to my regret, as I thought of the Mongolian countryside being pure nature, there was a lot of waste, which people left there after doing their BBQ.
